Sinus & Sore Throat Symptoms — Iowa Video Visit
Sinus discomfort and a sore throat can have viral, allergic, bacterial or other causes; symptoms alone do not always identify the source.
Pick a 30-minute video visit time online. No payment is taken at booking, and you will be asked to confirm you will be in Iowa during the visit.

Salome considers the patient’s history, visible findings and telehealth limitations before deciding how to proceed.
What to prepare
Have onset timing, fever, cough, exposure and any test results available. Bring information about allergies, other conditions and your preferred local pharmacy.
When not to wait for video care
Trouble swallowing saliva, drooling, severe swelling, or breathing difficulty need urgent in-person attention. If this is an emergency, call 911.
Next steps after the consultation
After clinical evaluation, the plan may include self-care counseling, follow-up, a referral, a local examination or testing. Any treatment or prescription depends on clinical judgment and applicable law.
Questions Iowa patients ask before booking
Straight answers to common concerns. A video visit may help determine the right next step, but it cannot replace every examination or test.
Do I need antibiotics for a sinus infection?
Not necessarily. Many sinus symptoms are caused by viruses or allergies. Salome will assess duration, severity and red flags; antibiotics are prescribed only if clinically appropriate.
Can strep throat be diagnosed from video alone?
A video assessment can guide the next step, but a throat test or in-person examination may be needed before treatment.
When should I seek urgent in-person care?
Difficulty breathing or swallowing, drooling, severe dehydration or rapidly worsening symptoms requires prompt in-person evaluation.
Ready to discuss your concern?
Video visits are available daily, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Central (Iowa) time. Booking takes about two minutes, and no payment is taken when you book.
