Examples include uncomplicated colds, seasonal allergies, mild skin complaints, minor digestive symptoms, uncomplicated eye irritation and selected urinary concerns. The clinician will assess symptoms and decide whether remote management is safe.
When video is not enough
Chest pain, trouble breathing, stroke symptoms, severe dehydration, intense abdominal pain, uncontrolled bleeding, altered mental status and other dangerous symptoms require urgent in-person or emergency evaluation. Call 911 for a medical emergency.
A practical care plan
If telehealth is appropriate, Salome can provide counseling, an assessment and follow-up recommendations. When needed, she can refer you for examination, testing or emergency care. Antibiotics or other medication are never guaranteed.
Questions Iowa patients ask before booking
Straight answers to common concerns. A video visit may help determine the right next step, but it cannot replace every examination or test.
What urgent-care symptoms can be evaluated by video?
Appropriate non-emergency concerns may include allergies, uncomplicated rashes, some respiratory symptoms, and minor gastrointestinal complaints. Salome determines whether remote care is sufficient.
Do I need to live in Des Moines to book?
No. Iowa patients anywhere in the state may request a video visit, provided they are physically in Iowa during the appointment.
Can I use this service for an emergency?
No. Chest pain, stroke signs, severe breathing difficulty, serious injury and other emergencies require calling 911 or going to an emergency department.
Ready to discuss your concern?
Video visits are available daily, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Central (Iowa) time. Booking takes about two minutes, and no payment is taken when you book.
