Salome considers the patient’s history, visible findings and telehealth limitations before deciding how to proceed.
What to prepare
Have your last thyroid test date, dosage, and medication-taking schedule ready. Bring information about allergies, other conditions and your preferred local pharmacy.
When not to wait for video care
Severe palpitations, altered mental status, or rapidly worsening symptoms need urgent evaluation. If this is an emergency, call 911.
Next steps after the consultation
After clinical evaluation, the plan may include self-care counseling, follow-up, a referral, a local examination or testing. Any treatment or prescription depends on clinical judgment and applicable law.
Questions Iowa patients ask before booking
Straight answers to common concerns. A video visit may help determine the right next step, but it cannot replace every examination or test.
Can I review a TSH result over video?
Yes, a video visit can be appropriate to discuss thyroid labs, symptoms and ongoing care. Additional tests or examination may be necessary.
Does a thyroid refill require recent lab work?
Sometimes. Thyroid medication decisions depend on the condition, dose stability, clinical history and available test results.
What symptoms should I mention?
Discuss fatigue, weight changes, palpitations, heat or cold sensitivity, pregnancy status when relevant, and medication timing.
Ready to discuss your concern?
Video visits are available daily, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Central (Iowa) time. Booking takes about two minutes, and no payment is taken when you book.
