Salome considers the patient’s history, visible findings and telehealth limitations before deciding how to proceed.
What to prepare
Have several recent seated readings, your medication list, and information about dizziness or swelling available. Bring information about allergies, other conditions and your preferred local pharmacy.
When not to wait for video care
Very high readings with chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, or neurologic symptoms need urgent or emergency care. If this is an emergency, call 911.
Next steps after the consultation
After clinical evaluation, the plan may include self-care counseling, follow-up, a referral, a local examination or testing. Any treatment or prescription depends on clinical judgment and applicable law.
Questions Iowa patients ask before booking
Straight answers to common concerns. A video visit may help determine the right next step, but it cannot replace every examination or test.
Can I follow up for high blood pressure by video?
Often yes, especially if you have reliable home blood-pressure measurements. Salome may recommend in-person evaluation, lab work or a medication review depending on readings and symptoms.
What should I bring to a blood-pressure video visit?
Bring readings with dates and times, a current medication list, symptoms and any recent labs. Use a validated cuff when possible.
When is high blood pressure an emergency?
Chest pain, shortness of breath, stroke-like symptoms or other severe symptoms require emergency evaluation. Call 911 rather than booking a routine visit.
Ready to discuss your concern?
Video visits are available daily, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Central (Iowa) time. Booking takes about two minutes, and no payment is taken when you book.
