Quick answers

Can I see an Iowa nurse practitioner online today?

Often, yes. Video visits with Salome Sutter, FNP, are offered daily, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Central (Iowa) time. Open times are shown live on the booking page; same-day availability is not guaranteed.

Who can book a visit?

Adults who will be physically in Iowa during the video visit. You do not have to be a permanent Iowa resident — out-of-state college students and travelers can be seen while they are in Iowa.

How do I book?

Go to salomesutter.com/book, pick a 30-minute time, enter your name, phone and email, and answer two short questions. You will get a confirmation email, and your secure video link is sent before the visit.

Do I pay when I book?

No. No payment is taken at booking. The visit fee and any insurance or self-pay questions are reviewed with you before your appointment.

Can you send a prescription to my pharmacy?

When medically appropriate, prescriptions can be sent to the Iowa pharmacy you choose. No medication is guaranteed, and controlled substances are not prescribed through this service.

What conditions can be handled by video?

Many common concerns: cold, flu and COVID-like symptoms, sinus and sore throat, urinary symptoms, rashes, pink eye, allergies, and follow-up for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid and non-controlled medications. If you need an in-person exam, tests or urgent care, Salome will tell you.

Is there an Iowa office?

No. Walk-In Wellness Acute Care offers Iowa care by video only. Salome is based in Texas and licensed in Iowa; she began her nursing education at DMACC in Iowa.

What should I do in an emergency?

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Video visits are not for emergencies. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988.

Can nurse practitioners practice independently in Iowa?

Yes. The Iowa nursing authority states that ARNPs may practice independently within their education, certification, and population focus. This does not remove clinical obligations concerning examination, documentation, referrals, or safe prescribing.

Do I need to be an Iowa resident?

Care authorization principally depends on the patient’s physical location during the encounter and the clinician’s licensing. Confirm your location at booking and at the visit.

Can an online appointment produce a prescription?

Sometimes, when medically appropriate and consistent with the law. No drug, antibiotic, or refill is guaranteed. Controlled-substance prescribing is not offered through this website.

What if I need tests?

Your clinician will advise whether a test or in-person examination is needed. Before using a particular laboratory, confirm that ordering and follow-up arrangements are operational.

Safety: Video care is not emergency care. For life-threatening symptoms call 911. Telehealth is used only when clinically appropriate.

Questions Iowa patients ask before booking

Straight answers to common concerns. A video visit may help determine the right next step, but it cannot replace every examination or test.

Can I see Salome from my home in Iowa if she is physically in Texas?

Yes. Salome is Iowa-licensed and based in Texas. She may provide an appropriate telehealth visit while you are physically in Iowa.

Is an online primary-care appointment free because no payment is taken when booking?

No. No payment is required to reserve the appointment, but charges for clinical care may apply. Confirm the fee before your visit.

What happens if I need a physical examination or tests?

Salome may recommend an appropriate local clinician, lab or urgent-care setting. An online visit does not replace all in-person care.
