Rural Iowa Telehealth — Iowa Video Visit
Telehealth may reduce travel for follow-up and selected non-emergency concerns, but local laboratory or urgent care may still be required.
Pick a 30-minute video visit time online. No payment is taken at booking, and you will be asked to confirm you will be in Iowa during the visit.

Salome considers the patient’s history, visible findings and telehealth limitations before deciding how to proceed.
What to prepare
Check your internet connection and identify a nearby in-person facility before the appointment when possible. Bring information about allergies, other conditions and your preferred local pharmacy.
When not to wait for video care
Remote availability is determined by appointment capacity and clinical suitability, not a guarantee of rural service coverage. If this is an emergency, call 911.
Next steps after the consultation
After clinical evaluation, the plan may include self-care counseling, follow-up, a referral, a local examination or testing. Any treatment or prescription depends on clinical judgment and applicable law.
Questions Iowa patients ask before booking
Straight answers to common concerns. A video visit may help determine the right next step, but it cannot replace every examination or test.
Can I have a video visit from a rural Iowa town?
Yes, if you are physically in Iowa and have reliable internet, camera and audio. Some medical issues still require a nearby clinic, laboratory or emergency department.
What if my connection drops during the visit?
Contact the practice using the scheduling communication instructions. A remote appointment may need to be rescheduled if the technology is insufficient for safe assessment.
Can you replace my local doctor?
Virtual care may complement local healthcare, but you should maintain access to in-person examinations, tests, vaccinations and emergency services.
Ready to discuss your concern?
Video visits are available daily, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Central (Iowa) time. Booking takes about two minutes, and no payment is taken when you book.
