Salome considers the patient’s history, visible findings and telehealth limitations before deciding how to proceed.
What to prepare
Have the onset, associated symptoms, current medicines and blood-pressure readings if available. Bring information about allergies, other conditions and your preferred local pharmacy.
When not to wait for video care
Sudden worst headache, neurologic deficits, fever with neck stiffness or new confusion require emergency assessment. If this is an emergency, call 911.
Next steps after the consultation
After clinical evaluation, the plan may include self-care counseling, follow-up, a referral, a local examination or testing. Any treatment or prescription depends on clinical judgment and applicable law.
Questions Iowa patients ask before booking
Straight answers to common concerns. A video visit may help determine the right next step, but it cannot replace every examination or test.
Can a recurring headache be assessed through video?
Some familiar, non-emergency headaches may be reviewed virtually, especially with a detailed history. A neurological examination or imaging may be necessary.
What headache symptoms are emergencies?
A sudden worst-ever headache, weakness, fainting, confusion, stiff neck with fever or new neurological symptoms require emergency evaluation.
Ready to discuss your concern?
Video visits are available daily, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Central (Iowa) time. Booking takes about two minutes, and no payment is taken when you book.
