When a virtual visit may help

Salome considers the patient’s history, visible findings and telehealth limitations before deciding how to proceed.

What to prepare

Choose a private setting and confirm your Iowa location before your appointment. Bring information about allergies, other conditions and your preferred local pharmacy.

When not to wait for video care

No affiliation with any Iowa college or university is claimed. If this is an emergency, call 911.

Next steps after the consultation

After clinical evaluation, the plan may include self-care counseling, follow-up, a referral, a local examination or testing. Any treatment or prescription depends on clinical judgment and applicable law.

Safety: Video care is not emergency care. For life-threatening symptoms call 911. Telehealth is used only when clinically appropriate.

Questions Iowa patients ask before booking

Straight answers to common concerns. A video visit may help determine the right next step, but it cannot replace every examination or test.

I am a college student in Iowa. Can I book a video visit?

Yes, eligible adults physically located in Iowa can request a private video visit. There is no Iowa walk-in office.

Do I need to visit campus health first?

Not necessarily, but on-campus care can be important for tests, physical exams and other in-person services. Salome can help determine whether a local exam is needed.

Can I ask about sexual health without going to a waiting room?

You can begin with a video consultation, but some STI testing and treatment require a lab or in-person care. Confidentiality has legal and operational limits.
